Premium instalment insurance

Safeguard your health insurance premium – in case your salary stops coming.

The health insurer's premium arrives every month, even when your salary does not. The premium instalment insurance covers your insured premium instalment if you become unemployed through no fault of your own or fully incapable of working and your net salary falls by at least 10 % as a result. For employees resident in Switzerland – cancellable monthly.

When the insurance pays out

Two cases are covered – in both, what counts is how far your net salary falls as a result.

  • Involuntary unemployment.
  • 100% incapacity for work due to illness or accident.
  • In both cases, your take-home pay must fall by at least 10% as a result.

The extent and the duration of the benefits are set out in the policy terms. We go through them with you before you sign up – so that you know what you are buying.

What you can insure

You decide the monthly premium instalment that is to be covered when a claim arises.

  • Your health insurance premiums are covered — basic insurance (KVG) and supplementary insurance (VVG).
  • The premiums of your children under 18 living in the same household may also be included.
  • You must be employed and resident in Switzerland.
  • While benefits are being paid, you also do not pay the premium for this cover.
  • The contract can be cancelled monthly.

A monthly premium instalment between CHF 100.– and CHF 4’000.– can be insured.

What it costs

The premium is 6.6 % of the insured premium instalment sum. An example:

What counts is the quote you receive from us – it is based on your actual premium instalment.

What you get out of it

  • You continue to meet your regular financial commitments.
  • Greater certainty when planning your budget.
  • Greater peace of mind in the event of unemployment, illness or accident.
